Green and sustainable

We will deliver a Green and Sustainable Action Plan which makes a major positive contribution to the economic pillar of sustainable development, creates a positive social value legacy for Peddimore and supports Birmingham’s green economy.

We will:

• Deploy ‘Smart Grid’ technology to charge batteries during the day with solar PV, enabling the use of power during the night or at peak time
• Reduce carbon by 36% across the phase 1 development through the use of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy technologies
• Target a BREEAM Excellent rating
• Develop a waste management strategy to recycle or reuse all recyclable waste streams where possible
• Reduce water use to secure a 25% reduction compared to typical buildings
